One way I've heard it explained is that in South America, there were not a lot of Jews,

but there were a lot of communists.

We see what kind of became true everywhere is that this basically assault on Jews became,

obviously the Anatsis were extremely anti-communists, but the anti-communism really became first and

foremost the goal of the post-war Nazis.

A lot of these guys integrated with the word anti-communist league in organizations such as that as well.

Yeah. It wasn't just the German Nazis that were fleeing either.

You ended up with a lot of the quizzlings.

I know there was actually a pretty big colony of French collaborators.

I remember correctly that it had been set up in Argentina in the aftermath of the war.

There were a lot of these former fascist Nazis wandering around there.

In the case of the French, it wasn't necessarily the anti-Semitism that was a driving factor.

The French fascist movements had really just embraced that more to appease the Germans in the aftermath.

After they had been defeated, a lot of these guys, they're pretexted,

always been anti-communism from the beginning.

At some extent that became more prevalent, especially when obviously just the German racial policies and so forth

were just simply untenable in the post-war years.

You needed something to rally the troops around.

You can be racist in South America.

You just have to have a more diverse view of racism.
