Summary

My friend Patrick Risk (who was most recently on Episode 297) joins us to talk about his new book “One Day at a Time: Daily Hope for Those Navigating Their Own Path of Healing.” Patrick bravely shares his own life story (including being a survival of sexual abuse, having an eating disorder, and being gay) to bring practical advice and insights for those looking to find peace, healing, and hope. Patrick talks about going from “what if to what now” and going from “victim to victor.” If you are dealing with the complexities of a difficult mortal world and want an authentic voice to give you principles to find peace and hope, please listen to this podcast and read Patricks’ powerful book. Patrick will help you feel God’s love, understand that you are not alone, and that you are strong enough to overcome any obstacles that you face. Thank you, Patrick, for being on the podcast and for your remarkable life ministry to bless others. You are a great man. Patrick was on episode 297 back in August of 2020.

That helps and remind us how fast we're recording episodes were in the 600s, three years later.

And that's a credit to the brave people that step forward and share their stories.

And I became, you know, I've known Patrick, obviously,

0:39.1

for a while, since he's been on the podcast, count him as a friend, he's doing great work

0:43.6

in our community to be on. But then one day I saw that he had published a new book. And I

0:50.2

get so many requests to be on the podcast that sometimes it's hard to me to and manage all

0:55.7

these requests. It's a good thing, but sometimes I feel impressed to invite somebody on the podcast

1:00.2

and work them into the schedule. And that's what I felt impressed to do with Patrick, because I thought

1:05.4

listeners should be aware of his book. And the name of the book is one day at a time,

1:13.5

daily hope for those navigating their own path of healing. And part of Patrick's story is going to

1:19.5

share as being a survivor of sexual abuse as a child. And that's a brutal road. And he talked

1:25.6

about that on his prior podcast. And one of the

1:28.6

things that Patrick said to me, and I put it in my first book, and I still get emotional as I

1:35.5

think about this, he said, as he was navigating his sexual abuse, he said, he sort of went from what if to what now. And this gift that Patrick has,

1:49.5

and I don't know how he got in this space to sort of accept the reality of a situation and just

1:54.6

say, what now? And look forward. And I think that's part of Patrick's ministry and our faith

2:00.8

and beyond. And I haven't read Patrick's book, but maybe that's part of Patrick's ministry and our faith and beyond. And I haven't
