My wife Kristen listened to an episode recently

and she had this really interesting observation.

She said, you know, in the beginning,

you tell people what you're up to

and then you get down with that part

and you move into the whatever it is you're talking about part.

But she said you fly through that opening part.

It's almost like you're trying to get through

that sort of little list you have going

of all the things you got going on

and things you want to tell people about.

You sort of race through that in order to get to the second part.

But she said, I actually think it's really interesting

what you're up to and why you do it.

She said we always find it interesting why people do what they do

and how they're making it and what sort of brought them

to the point of doing the things that they're doing.

So she said you should just feel free to slow down

and tell people why you're doing whatever it is that you're doing

and why it matters to you and what it means to you.

And then she reminded me that we had been listening
