We hope that you had a nice weekend. Did you over the weekend properly celebrate the NFL team of Washington DC going on beaten in a preseason for the first time since 2013?

The commanders concluded a three-ando preseason with a 21-19 win over the Cincinnati Bangles at FedEx Field on Saturday evening.

You know, on Friday's show, Episode 642 answered a tweet from a man Brian on the NFL preseason mattering.

And I said that a good preseason, especially for a young NFL team, can instill confidence in that team.

But there is zero consistent correlation between preseason record and regular season record.

The 2013 redskins are a great example of this. The 2013 skins went or-and-oh in the preseason.

The 2013 skins then went three and thirteen in the regular season, one of the ugliest regular seasons in Washington history.

The skins ended that season on an eight-game losing streak. The season ended up featuring the complete implosion of the relationship between head coach Mike Shanahan, who ended up getting fired and quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Let us hope that the commanders 2023 season is nothing like the skins of 2013 season.

Yeah, winning begins winning. I mean, it creates a good atmosphere, creates a positive vibe and we're going to grow from it.

You know, it doesn't mean we're going to win on the regular season. Don't know, but I hope it does.

I hope it does something that we can draw from, something we can relate to, something that can help us as we go forward.

I really do think that, you know, the tone that's being set right now, I mean, shit, they did the wave.

I haven't seen the wave here and, you know, this is the first time. So it was really cool. It really was.

I mean, again, there's some energy, there's some excitement and hopefully we can feed off that, build off of that, it can help us.
