Summary

A couple of months ago, I received emails from two brands that are changing the game in the feminine-hygiene category. Both were interested in being on the podcast and both were selling the same kind of product (natural tampons). But they were doing it in such different ways, that I couldn’t decide which one to interview. They were both so innovative (and looked cool, too). So I didn’t choose. I interviewed both. Two interviews about tampons?! Yes.

In part one, I interview the founder of Lola, Alex Friedman. Alex and I discuss the hardest part about building an early-stage company, the process of testing and launching a new product, why there is still a stigma around feminine-hygiene products, and how she’s making big steps to change the industry.

Here’s Alex:

It's the one-part podcast, and I am bringing you lessons in next-level inspiration.

0:32.5

It's a two-part episode today. You can run longer, be in the car a little longer on your road trip. You've got

0:39.9

a little something extra to listen to. I'm excited about this two-parter. But first, I want to tell

0:45.1

you that this episode is supported by BellaCon. They are the makers of the best rebounders on

0:50.5

the market. I'm going to say the world. If you're not familiar with rebounding, there are little

0:54.9

mini trampolines that you bounce on. The reason why Belicon makes the best rebounders is because they

1:01.2

use bungeys on their trampolines instead of springs, which is not only better for your joints,

1:06.3

but for your ears too. I cannot stand the squeaking. And plus, I like to listen to podcasts while I'm doing it,

1:13.5

and you cannot hear podcasts while you're jumping with the squeaking.

1:17.8

There's a bunch of benefits to bouncing.

1:19.9

It helps with your lymphatic system, back in joint pain,

1:23.2

and it's a really good workout.

1:24.9

But one of the coolest things that I found by doing research about rebounding

1:29.4

is that in 1980, NASA did research on the best type of exercise,

1:35.2

and they concluded it was bouncing, even better than running,

1:39.2

which I think is pretty awesome.

1:41.5

I'll include a link to this article in the show notes.

1:56.6

offer rebounding classes, which look like a ton of fun.

2:03.5

All right, a little note before we get to today's guest.
