The Hi folks and welcome to the last soda jerker on songwriting of 2014 and a rather special one it is too for joining us today is an actor, singer songwriter and playwright who's probably best known to many of you for his sundry notable roles on the silver screen over the last 33 years.

But what you may not realize is that he's been prolifically writing songs and playing guitar for as long as he's been a professional

pretender as he puts it. He's also recorded a number of fine albums, the most

recent of which, days like these, was released just a couple of months ago.

It's been a real joy to discoveries as adept at crafting a memorable tune with a witty thoughtful

lyric as he is at creating memorable characters with the screen.

potted history it would be my honor friend Jeff Daniels was born in Athens, Georgia in 1955 but raised in the town of Chelsea, Michigan.

He picked up the guitar not long after graduating from high school before the acting bug led him to study theatre at Central Michigan University.

After moving to New York City in 1976 to pursue his acting career in earnest
