So, Welcome to another episode of 40 minutes in the Old Testament. I am Daniel Lamere Price. I'm joined by Chad Bird. Chad, what's going on man?

Hey everybody. Oh man, I'm just, I'm ready to go.

I've been up for a while, getting ready for today's podcast and I cannot wait to get into Chapter 3. there's so much good stuff kind of I learned a few things this morning and I can't wait to pass those on.

Oh, oh, all right. Well we left we left Moses in a little bit of a weird spot.

Yeah, yeah, two weeks in a row we've kind of, we've abandoned Moses in a precarious situation.

Couple weeks ago he was floating down the Nile River and last week,

middle of chapter two of exodus, we left him after he killed the Egyptian and found out that Pharaoh discovered the murder and so we

get to figure out what happens in Moses next so that's where we're at all right let's do it

let's figure it out so uh we we heard in the beginning of the chapter

about its infancy and then he verses later we heard of what happened when he was 40 years old when he he killed the Egyptian it was beating one of his Hebrew brothers and then the next day he tries to intervene in a fight between two

Israelites and he discovers in his heated conversation with these guys that his murder of the Egyptian was public knowledge.

They said, are you intending to kill me as you kill the Egyptian?

So Moses is scared. He realizes that his secret is no longer a secret. And

then we have here in verse 15 that Pharaoh heard about it and he tried to kill Moses.

So the secret act on the part of Moses was publicly known,

went all the way up to Pharaoh, and now Pharaoh is seeking the life of Moses.

So things have not gone well with Moses at this point in his life. He's 40 years old and now as we're about to hear he's

going to have to leave behind everything that he's known. So he was born of an

Israelite family. He was raised in Pharaoh's household, learned all the arts and the

knowledge of the Egyptians. He was basically royalty. But after he commits this crime, then he has to leave all of that behind.

So his first 40 years were spent in relative ease,

and now the next 40 years of his life are going to be the exact opposite of that.
