Summary

Every pregnancy comes with its risks and worries. Along with the miracle of new life come fears of all the things that could go wrong. For Callie and Kevin Colwick, those fears were realized when complications with her pregnancy left her in a coma with little chance of survival. Kevin spent months in the hospital, unsure if he would ever see his wife awake again. Callie and Kevin sit down with Davey to talk about this season, its aftermath, and how it has shaped their relationship with God. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

And now the host of the Nothing Is Wasted podcast, Davy Blackburn.

0:17.0

Hello, welcome to the Nothing Is Wasted Podcast. I'm Davey, your host and joining me Mel, our co-host,

0:28.5

it's good to see you. Good to see you too, Davey. We are continuing our mini series that we've been doing.

0:34.4

Well, we started at last episode and we're going to do it for the next few episodes where we're

0:38.1

talking about this pain-to-purpose video course that we're releasing on July 14th and some of the waypoints.

0:44.2

We're going to take two waypoints each episode in this mini series and so man it was a

0:50.4

pleasure to be able to talk to you guys a little bit about this last week. I'm excited about

0:54.5

diving in again this week. Yeah I'm really excited about this video course. I found the first two

0:59.5

waypoints fascinating and I loved how you just shared how you even came up with this video course and how it's already been helping those that you've been coaching and so today we're going to talk about the next

1:13.9

two waypoints and the first one is unclog your bitterness and this is something

1:20.6

that we've watched you and your family have to practice and so I'd love to hear what is bitterness do to us that impedes us from getting through our valley.

1:30.0

Yeah, that's a great question Mel because it's actually bitterness. I think that's the one thing that I see predominantly holding people back in their valley from being able to move forward in it.

1:41.0

And again, like we talked about last week, people ask all the time,

1:43.2

how do I get out of my valley? The only way out of it is through it. So we have to walk through

1:47.4

these waypoints, and this is the one that holds us up more than anything else.

1:52.1

I've heard it said before that bitterness rots the hand

1:54.8

that holds it and so what's crazy is that when it comes to bitterness oftentimes you

2:00.8

can't recognize the bitterness inside of yourself, but people around you can

2:05.1

recognize it. And it's like your life is kind of like a stench, and everybody else sees it because

2:10.7

you're carrying this bitterness into relationships or into situations

2:14.3

that you don't even realize you're carrying into it.
