It's another day at the Double B Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada, but it's a Friday.

I used to love Fridays in everyday work-day world. They were my favorite day of the week.

This is Betsy Bell, and how can this happen? I am taking notes today that in this world,

things can change on a dime. And your experiences in this world don't always mean anything. They don't always have an impact. Others are forever etched in your brain. And the visuals are video clips

that replay without a moment's notice. So today we are talking about media mutilation. Yeah, The media's fun way of giving you facts that paints a portrait in

your mind that I find offensive, no matter what side of the fence you're on. The first part is the truth. The second part is the

cats out of the bag. And the third part is giving everything a pass. Okay, you don't know all the time.

On your own mind, your visuals and your video clips that replay without a moment's note, notice, you don't know what triggers them. That is what happens

when people experience a tragedy. The visual residual never leaves you. Some

stories are like that. My father was a surgeon, and as I have said on this show before,

he was an extremely humble man, and he had said many times

that he was as much a psychiatrist as he was a surgeon. One such case in point was about a young

man he had as a patient, never told me his age. The one that stood out to me,

and it never left my mind. This boy had come into the hospital, and he had diagnosed him with a

ruptured spleen. My dad went into his room and explained what the procedure was for the

surgery. He then said to the child, how did this happen to you? The young boy told my father,

I fell down. He asked the boy again, are you sure that's what happened? Are you telling me that you became

injured after you fell down? And the young boy confirmed it. Off my dad went to work his magic.

The boy was recovering well from surgery, but now it was time.

So my father went into the room and told the young man, your surgery went very well. You will

heal nicely. Then he said to the hymn, I know that you didn't fall down. Now, I want you to tell me the truth of how you got this
