This is Betsy Bell and I'm back at the Double B Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada, and I have got a show for you.

Today is about forgotten feelings. and it starts out with words and it goes into part two,

which is tragedy. And then to wrap it all up, it's called accountability. And how we saw accountability in our world. You know, words really do

have consequences. And that is what is on display today. And it will be for a long time.

We started this snowball going down the hill with political correctness.

When I was younger than I am today, I went to a forum at the Thomas and Mac Center in Las Vegas.

The speakers were an assembly of well-known authorities and inventors.

Colin Powell, Laura Bush, and Lou Holtz, the Notre Dame football coach.

These guys were so inspirational.

Colin Powell said something I will never forget, and that is.

This was in the late 90s.

He said political correctness is killing our country.

At the time, I somewhat knew what it meant, what it meant.

But I did not see the destruction it would cause

down the road. As you consider the words that are extinguished, you end up with language that

only certain people understand. You almost end up speaking in an alternate universal language that only your

insiders know and can speak. This is the essence of division, my audience, keeping people out

who don't know the language. I would like to go toward a certain

objective today about how divisive our discourse is. But in order to do that, I have to point to

certain overused phrases that are filling our everyday discourse.

It's annoying at the same time.
