This week, T.J. and Sam discuss the pros and cons of different defensive decisions you'll

have to make for your team this season. As TJ says in the episode, have a process for these

decisions that allows you to be great at what you do. Let's get started.

Welcome to the hardwood hustle. Sam and I, we're going to have a little bit of a different

episode here, and we're going to ask the question, this or that related to defense. You know,

there's so many questions that you have to ask yourself, whether it's you and your staff or just

you, you know,

what are we going to do this year defensively?

You know, are we going to do anything different or are we like what we're doing?

A lot of ideas have spurned from the NBA finals with two teams that are making a lot of defensive

adjustments.

You got OKC is the number one team in the league analytically on the defensive end. And so we're going to go back and we're going to ask the questions. You probably should ask yourself or you should be having conversations with your other coaches or coaching friends with to make sure that you're not just making these in isolation. And you're actually thinking through each one of these. So, Sam, I'm going to start this off.

First of all, I've enjoyed watching this series.

I've enjoyed watching OKC's defense.

I've enjoyed watching the Pacers adjustments.

I've enjoyed watching guys make amazing defensive plays, like what's his name, McConnell,

from Indiana Pacers, like with some full court pressure steals, changing the game.

I've enjoyed watching the Pacers pressure the ball like 94 feet, a lot of the games, different than anything you've seen the NBA.

People are making more of an effort to get to the offensive glass. So defensive transition

and the NBA is changing a lot. There's just current, you know, trends, and you can see people being creative and

want to go this or that on defense.
