An inquiry question is, what is the categorical imperative, and it's three formulations?

Right, so unlike the hypothetical imperative, these apply to everyone.

They tell everyone what to do, and they don't depend on goals.

They apply to everyone because there are products of our objective, a priorite laws of pure reason.

So that's why all that stuff was relevant at the start, because we use this pure reason to arrive at the categorical imperative.
