Hello, seniors, I am your host. I am Ted King. And once again, thank you. Obrugado for listening to King of the Ride podcast. Now, I know I just slipped that in there pretty deftly. You had to be listening closely. That was, of course, Portuguese, no, not Spanish. And in a combination of having spent last week in Portugal and having spent the better part of the past decade living and racing overseas,

I consider myself the tiniest bit of a linguist.

But don't worry, because this will largely be an English-speaking podcast today.

With those three Portuguese words, I think I've taxed my entire Portuguese vocabulary.

Anyway, the Summer Adventures of 2018, they are off and running.

They are in full gear.

We are flying.

And that means no sooner had the wife and I arrived in New England.

Laura and I promptly continued that momentum east and we arrived

in Portugal, oh, I'd say 10 days ago, where we quickly, easily, comfortably, happily

settled into the Angamba Tour's pace of life. Now, I know that we've mentioned in Gamba

in past episodes and it's worth explaining it a tiny

bit more here today based on today's guest.

So in Gamba was started by a very good friend of mine, former teammate, Juao Correa, who is

fascinating and is totally worthy of a podcast, but he is not who we speak with today.

Hold your horses.

So the year is 2010, and Jow and and our teammates on the Cervillo test team.

We both wrapped up a race, were a bit smoked, tired, in need of a rest and recharge, and he says,

come visit me in my hometown, Lecki in Kianti. He had set up shop there over the course of that season,

and he kept on raving about it subtly. I wanted to see it in no time better than the present.
