Hi everyone and welcome to another fine episode of the number one songwriting

podcast in the world. We don't actually have any evidence for that claim but we

figured if we said it often enough it would eventually be true. Yeah it's like when restaurants declare certain

dishes on the menu to be the famous cheeseburger or something. There's no actual statistical

information to back it up but you know you just believe it anyway. How are you Brian?

How's your writing being going this week? I noticed you dropped some pretty

tasty ideas in the dropbox. Why thank you? Yeah well I recently came into

possession of an iPad too so I've been tooling around a little bit on garage band and generally I'm a bit of a technophobe, but it's just within my capabilities to use a garage band on the iPad so I've been

doing that and it's been yeah it's been yielded some some fruit for fruit whatever

the phrases many of you probably don't, but Brian and I actually live in different cities.

So whilst we get together in our hometown of Liverpool to record the show and to co-write and record stuff,

there's actually a large amount of work that happens at a distance.

You know we use technology a lot in order to collaborate on ideas from afar.

So Brian might record an idea on his iPad as he said, and hook that up to a master keyboard or something.

And I might do something in logic and then we'll share those demos in a piece of software like

Dropbox which is a really good file sharing tool.

So yeah, then we'll develop those ideas

based on the demos, and sometimes we'll Skype conference,

to develop those ideas and also to take care of the dry administrative side of things too.

Booking guests for the podcast and registering songs with PRS and all those sort of things.

Yeah, and that keeps us connected even though there's usually about 100 miles between us
