I'm recording for a minute.

It's all solid gold. nightly podcast about the Harry Potter world. I'm Hannah McGregor and I'm

Marcel Kossman and today we're talking about the third novel in the Harry Potter

series Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azcaban. Just to give you a little

context we are back to our normal recording situation.

It is basically bedtime for responsible adults and instead we are having some snacks, drinking some wines.

There's so much popcorn.

We ate a lot of popcorn. We are ready to go.

First years follow me. It's time for the sorting chat. I'm going to start in right in with the sorting chat

with a moment that I underlined not because it was

thematically interesting but because it made me feel excruciatingly tender which is the

moment where all of the third year,

Gryphondors find out the new password,

which is a particularly difficult password.

And Neville Longbottom sadly says, oh no, because Neville Longbottom is very bad at remembering passwords.

Oh, that is such foreshadowing for what happens throughout the rest of the book and Neville's utter and complete disgrace.

Neville breaks my heart in this book. Having some sense of Neville's increasing importance as the books go on. I feel like he is at his

most abject in this book, almost entirely deleted from the narrative, only to appear in moments
