Hello and welcome to Probably Science. I'm your host one of three in fact. I'm Jesse Case.

I am Andy Wood. I'm back Kirsh and we have a guest today who I first met in Winnipeg, Canada, where she's originally from, but she is now down here in Los Angeles, although we're was back in Canada as well, because there's a Canadian roast battle. We'll talk about that coming out on February 23rd, but also LA-based comics on Leash coming out on February 26th, and just stand up all over the place. It's Aisha Alpha. How are you, Aisha? Hi, yeah. That's me. Winnipeg, Winnipeg till I died 204. Yeah, where was, I can't remember when we were in Winnipeg when I did that festival, but it was a good, it was more than a decade ago. Yeah. Oh, the one that, um, Kevin and, um, John Duff, I don't know who no it wasn't

one that was the odd block festival um John B Duff you know rest in itchiness I love him so

much and he would not want to be rest in uh peace he would want to be resting in like you know

some sort of joke itch powder or something um but he started that one as like the, I guess like a clapback at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival

for never really bringing in him and all his experience.

And then he had a great festival that was like everyone wanted to be in the Odd Block Festival.

But we met, I think Matt, at the Winnipeg comedy festival which is also good we we did that's why we met yeah yeah in one of the one of the many like i remember that one of the

nice things about the winnipap festival was every night they had their after party in a different place

so it was just like we're going to show you the city. Yeah. And it included everybody. Like some festivals are like,

you don't get into this area because you're not a VIP. And Winnipeg's like, I don't know,

we're all cold. Let's just all bunker in and drink some beer. That is my abiding memory of

Winnipeg is that you spend half of the year living underground like more people.

Yeah, you know, it is brutally cold in Winnipeg for most of the year.

And I think that is what fosters this amazing, like, collaboration where there's like amazing, this amazing art scene happens in Winnipeg.

But it gets flown over all the time when people go from

Toronto to Vancouver. And then in the summertime, you cannot pin down anybody for any kind of

work because they're like, I'm sick. I need to go to the lake for four weeks while it's still sunny.

It's great. It's great. I do miss that about, I grew up in the Midwest, like all over Minnesota,

Illinois, Michigan, and summertime in all those places. It's just a collective joy you don't get when it's sunny every day out here. When I first moved to L.A., I would be like, I was in my place and I got to do so much work. I'm like, oh, it's sunny. Well, let me spend the day outside. And then that happened every day. And all of a sudden I'm like, I forget.

It's going to be sunny here every day.
