Last time General Patton's 7th Army came ashore along Sicily's southern coast. And though there were American deaths, combat-related, or simply mistakes made, before July 10th was over, the cities of

Lakata, Skagliti, and Gala were in allied hands, within a bridgehead of 8 by 15 miles long.

from mainland Italy. Second, while waiting for help
