Hi, I'm Renee Hunter Vasquez. Hi, I'm John Paul Vasquez. This week, we're broadcasting live from a house with a shady past discussing the 2012 supernatural horror film, Sinister. This film was directed by Scott Derrickson off a script from Derrickson and co-writer C. Robert Cargill. Inspired by a nightmare that followed a viewing of Gore Verbensky's remake of the Ring, Cargill teamed with Derrickson to flesh out the film's story and the supernatural antagonist,

Begoul. Filled with tension, disturbing imagery, and a strong performance from lead actor Ethan Hawk,

the film would go on to become a financial success, with Derrickson and Cargill pinning a sequel in 2015.

So, Sinister, what were your first impressions on the film?

I'm trying to remember.

All right.

I know I had seen it once before with John Paul.

We didn't go to the movies.

Yeah, I don't remember.

So we had to have rented it or watched it at home on Netflix or something.

But I remember really liking it and then never watching it again.

I had never watched it again until we watched it for this.

So was it like brand new again?

Pretty much, yeah.
