My favorite ghost story, if you will, is also my favorite Christmas story.

It's the one you probably see or hear about every year it's called A Christmas Carol

by Charles Dickens, published in 1843. The miserly old Ebenezer Scrooge is

visited on Christmas Eve by the miserable ghost of his old business partner, followed by three

spirits and they each teach him life-changing lessons before he dies and it's too late to save

his own soul. It is a powerful story and I definitely personally believe in the lessons

and around this time each year I like to remind people that the character Ebenezer Scrooge

was based on a real man. His name was John Elvis. John Elvis was born in South

work England on April 7th of 1714 and he died on November 26th of 1789 at the age of 75.

His father was a successful brewer and his father's father was a member of parliament.

His mother was the daughter of a wealthy English baronet, Surge Vace and his mother's mother,
