city Balzid just west of the Fayette Pass, while Rommel took possession of the town Gavsa at the southern end

of the eastern mountains. But more importantly, significant American forces had been destroyed or captured

in the process, that the Americans in the South had been on the defensive, while the Germans

controlled the initiative was cemented

during this last contest. The $64,000 question now was, what would the Germans do next?
