Summary

On this week's show I chat with Philippe Auclair about Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette. Can the former make the impact we all hope for, and does the latter's poor form require a change in thinking from Mikel Arteta? We also discuss January recruitment, worrying finances, the prospect of no European football next season, and the potential of Gabriel Martinelli. After that, ahead of this weekend's North London derby, Tim Stillman chats with Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs about the game, her recovery from an ACL injury, the increased spotlight on the women's game and lots more.

1:03.3

There's clearly a measure of team building and togetherness and trying to galvanize the squad ahead of the last part of the season.

But also it gives me a lot of chance to work on some things with the players on the training ground.

1:15.3

This isn't about fitness now at this point.

This is about formations and tactics and systems and in-game stuff.

1:23.3

He's going to be working with the players fairly intensively outside of this schedule, the hectic schedule that we've had since he took over, which is basically play a game, recover from the game, prepare for the next game, play a game, recover from the game, prepare for the next game, etc, etc.

1:39.3

There's more scope for experimentation as the right thing, but maybe over the course of the six weeks that Mekyll Arthetta has been in charge, he has identified some things that he would like to put in place.

1:50.3

Some tactical tweaks here and there and this is the perfect way to do it.

1:55.3

We won't see the proof of that until we start playing games again, but that won't be too far away even if it isn't this weekend.

2:03.3

Busy show for you today though, a little bit later on, Tim Stillman will be chatting exclusively to the Arsenal women midfielder Jordan Nobs.

2:18.3

In recent times, it's something that has been quite prevalent at Arsenal over the last year or so, Hector Bellorin, or upholding and now of course, Calum Chambers has gone down with an injury.

2:28.3

But she also talks about the upcoming North London Darby against Spurs women, and you can hear that a little bit later on in the show.
