On this episode of Newt's World, we first heard about the coronavirus three weeks ago, and we've been watching the global death toll ever since.

As China continues its national quarantine, locking down whole cities, other countries run the globe worry if they could be next.

The question remains, are we facing the next global pandemic?

As you'll hear in this episode, we just don't know yet.

At the time I recorded this episode, there were 12 cases of coronavirus in the United States, and the death toll in China, where the disease started, is at 563 and continuing to increase.

We'll look at the epidemiology of the coronavirus and explain what we as Americans should be concerned about.

Let's talk about what we're going through with coronavirus and what your sense is about the scale of the challenge and the concerns you have.

You know, it's a moving target. It's evolving. It is clearly a very serious problem in China.

It could be, and turn out to be, a very serious problem for the world, in that it has the makings and the capability of evolving into a global pandemic.

But it's evolving in the sense of, we know a lot about it now than we did a month ago, but there's still a lot about it that we don't know.
