Jay Obernolte, who represents California's 23rd Congressional District.

He holds a master's degree from UCLA in artificial intelligence, as one of the leading voices

in the House on proposed legislation.

Frankly, it's a pleasant surprise to realize that in a rapidly evolving field like this,

we have a member who has the level of knowledge you do.

First of all, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and applied science from Caltech

in itself is pretty impressive.

And then a master's degree in artificial intelligence from UCLA.

You started a video game development company called Farsight Studios.

Then you elected to Big Bear City Council, where you served as mayor, then California State

Legislature, and now your member of Congress.

Did you ever think that you'd bring together sort of the world of artificial intelligence

and political capability?

Oh, I never thought that this would be my future at all.
