My dad passed away last week, so don’t mind my tears. Every day I'm learning more about what it means to grieve, and so far I've learned that it's grueling and exhausting. My dad has influenced every part of my being, and that fact doesn’t escape this podcast series. I hear him in the questions I ask; I see him in the way I approach the world. I know my dad would want me to continue to help people become better humans and become more other-focused. And today’s conversation is going to do just that! 0:43.6	Friends and family, I've not actually spoken on the internet since my incredible father, Dr. Phidemine Agosteen Whitaker, who you see.

1:05.8	Behind me?
1:10.3	Um... I haven't kind of talked to a camera or in a microphone since he passed away.
1:26.3	And I miss him.
1:29.9	And I'm going to do an entire show on that.
1:36.3	My dad kind of affects and surrounds every aspect of who I am, every facet of who I am.
1:45.7	And so there's not really anything I can think or do that doesn't involve him or his wisdom
1:49.6	in my life.
1:50.4	And so even today, as we jump into this second incredible story of human school, I feel like
1:56.5	my dad's fingerprints are all over my questions.
1:59.1	They're all over the conversation because I am my father's son
2:04.6	and I am, I ask questions I think he would ask. Even the more I look at the way I approach the world.
2:16.8	And then the more I listen to sermons that he preached in 1985, tomorrow I'm like,
2:21.4	oh my God, I am him in a really jacked up way because my dad was perfect and he wasn't
2:30.1	perfect.
2:30.8	But, you know what I'm saying?
2:33.6	Like, I just, I feel like I've heard a lot more people than he has.
2:37.3	And this is not going to be turning a therapy session.
