this episode is a singer, songwriter and guitarist whose brilliant work across

two decades with the band Squeeze has firmly cemented this place in history as one of the true greats of British pop music.

As we record this, he's about to release his fourth solo album entitled Happy Ending,

which is a set of songs every bit as impressive as we've come to expect from an artist of his pedigree.

Today we welcome to the show The Fantastic Mr. Glenn Hillbrook.

We're like a couple of prize fighters at the moment, Brian, just one knock out after another.

We are so pleased to finally have Glenn on the

podcast as no doubt will be the many listeners who've requested him as a

guest over the last couple of years. So here you go guys now you can't say we

never give you anything. Do you remember your first

exposure to Glenn and Squeeze Bry? Actually the first Squee

song I was ever aware of was cool for cats and that's because a version of it

was used on a milk advert here in the UK back in the early 90s.

I remember, yeah.

But it was some years later probably around 2003 that a friend of mine in London,

appropriately enough, gave me a compilation of their stuff, and I was hooked from thereon in,

and purchased pretty much their entire back catalogue in the space of about a fortnight.

Never do things by Harves?

Nope.

And not long after that, I discovered Glenn was playing a solo gig at a small venue in Liverpool called the mask.

So I went down and duly had my mind blown.
