These are the things you're not supposed to say or even think if you're a good liberal, a good conservative, or a good citizen. Each week, I'll interview a person who has something bad to say. They might be a

journalist or a professor. They might be a porn star or a drug dealer. They might just be an ordinary

person with an ordinary job who doesn't care about the rules of polite society. I'm not interested

I'm interested in people who break the rules of conventional thought

and to expand the scope of what is possible to say in our society.

I'm interested in people who make me think.

My guest this week is widely considered to be one of the greatest cartoonists of his generation,

but he does not like superheroes. Instead, he's created some of the most iconic anti-heroes

in what's called the world of alternative comics. But he does have heroes, and he's authored graphic biographies of them.

The theme in all of his work is freedom, physical freedom, the freedom of the body,

the freedom to be different, the freedom to be weird, the freedom to do and say whatever one wants. This is my interview with Peter Bagg.

So I'm at the kitchen table, dining table, in Tacoma, Washington, in the house of Peter

Bagg, who's a very well-known cartoonist and acclaimed cartoonist, certainly within that world.

I think you are considered one of the great cartoonists of your generation, and you won awards

to prove it.

I was nominated and then did not get elected into the Eisner Hall of Fame.

Normally, I'm not one of those cartoonists, one of those people that cares much about awards.
