This begins part three of Unfound's coverage into the disappearance of Melissa Trumpy.

There are a part one and part two. If you've not yet listened to them, please find them in your

podcast feed. Melissa Ann Trumpy was a 37-year-old from Monroe, Wisconsin. She was the mother of three and took care of a quadriplegic friend.

On October 26, 2021, Melissa drove to Shannon, Illinois to break up with her violent boyfriend.

Melissa's rented truck was later found not far from his house.

She was never seen again.

I'm Ed Dunsell, and this is unfound. Yep, absolutely.

The family is one of the oldest, wealthiest families in the area.

Denise Hammer herself is the village clerk for Shannon, and she is on the

village board. She has the clerk. She pays the Shannon police, their paychecks. She is connected

to all kinds of people. We have pictures of her with senators, and that are close friends that

she campaigned for.

We have pictures of her.

But another thing that the Shannon Village Fire Chief does is he's also the county's emergency management coordinator.

So when they have a tornado or they have this or that,

or they have a misperson like Melissa's case,

he's the guy that was the head of all their searches,

of law enforcement searches is this guy.
