we've been meeting here every week to break down all the action in the wild, weird, and

occasionally wonderful world of mixed

martial arts. Well, Ben, we pulled it off over the weekend. We had our live watch party

for the beloved patrons of the co-main event for the Jake Paul Anderson Silva boxing match

pay-per-view over there on Showtime.

This, I suppose, will be one of those rare episodes of the CME where a slightly different

combat sport takes precedence over MMA, because I don't think that there's any doubt that

the Jake Paul Anderson-Silva boxing match was the combat sports event of the weekend,

at least as it pertains to our bubble. And so we're going to spend some time talking about that

today on the proper. We're also going to talk a little bit about what happened between Calvin

Cater and Arnold Allen in the main event of the UFC fight night and then maybe some other

headline grabbing stuff as we get through this episode of the show this week. But I wanted to

start here and that is and maybe this didn't even occur to me until after we had watched

the pay-per-view. And maybe it didn't occur to me because this idea is so pervasive now in combat sports. But I sort of feel like we are

living in a very, very strange time in the world of boxing and mixed martial arts. And

there may, there may not have ever been a fight in the history of the sport to point that out more

obviously than the fight that opened up the Anderson Silva Jake Paul pay-per-view featuring

former UFC featherweight I believe Chris Avala fighting a sexy doctor.

I mean, the sexiest doctor, according to People magazine.
