Dylger and also Mikey Campbell. Hey guys. Dan, let's talk a little bit about one of the stories that means a lot to you.

I know you're focused on this, you were telling me about it a little bit before we started recording.

What's going on with shipped model numbers and people's focus on that?

Well, yeah, to focus on things that matter.

And what matters is obviously how well you're able to respond to trends in the market because if, for example, somebody

was coming up with a new type of phone or alternative to the smartphone as we know it and it was starting

to gain a lot of traction that would be important for Apple to do and even if they

were selling a lot of iPhones we've seen this trend happen with other companies

it happened to Nokia it happened to basically everyone in the smartphone industry when Apple arrived.

And we've seen other companies try to do things like that.

Microsoft is talking about how they're going to... things like that.

Microsoft is talking about how they're going to come back into smartphones, but unless we actually see a threat,

talking about, you know, just inventing problems is not really material.

And I just see so little focus put on things that matter and so much focus put on

things that actually don't matter long term. One of the biggest things that you see is

cyclical numbers. It was a big deal all the time that Apple sold all their stuff in the winter

quarter during the holidays and then they would drop off in the spring and everybody say oh the

iPhone's going away now it isn't I mean it's a cyclical one knows that one's
