How are you going to kick off the New Year for the show?

It's a New Year, it's a new us, and I talk to Katie Vine.

Katie Vine is an executive editor at Texas Monthly.

She's written for Texas Monthly for a long time.

It is actually the only place that she has ever worked, as we talked about in this interview.

She's been there for 25 years, Texas Monthly, about to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

And we talked about that arc and how she finds stories in Texas, and why she is so interested in con men.

And I was also in Texas for the holidays visiting some family.

And so we got to do this interview in person at the Texas Monthly offices, which was nice.

It's so nice to do these things in person, particularly in the state of Texas.

It seems like 1,000 years ago that we used to have like a landlocked cubicle in the activist office,

and people would show up every week to talk to us.

I don't even remember.

I think the last time I did it in person was maybe when Evan came to my house, but that doesn't count.

So yeah, here's to the glory days of getting to meet all these people.
