Okay, welcome back. You're here for the second hour of the war room. We've got the slate up. They've given us from Mar-Lago. So that means momentarily the commander chief, President Trump, will step into the press briefing with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Kane, the Secretary of War, Pete Hegesa, the Secretary

of State, Marco Rubio, about the extraordinary events that's taken place over the last

couple hours. We're going to try to get as much as possible before the press briefing,

and then we'll be around afterwards. I just want to go back. Todd, you've done this before.

Just rewind for a second

because I'm sure we're going to get some details here in the press briefing. I want to set the

framework for the audience. The complexity of trying to do this. This is just not a couple of gunships

going in that like we see the video. I think you see a couple of helicopters. Walk me through the

complexity of this, sir.

So what first will happen is any targets that need to be softened up air defense or anything that could restrict the extraction or the hit, as you say, needs to be taken care of.

So once that's done, you also have usually a ranger force, which is kind of

tier two special operations assets, take an airfield or somewhere where the, where the extraction

can take place. And then you have the tier one assets like Delta or SD6 come in on rotary wing aircraft

usually and hit the target and extract the precious cargo.

So that's what happened.

There's reports Trump said that one aircraft was hit.

These helicopters are extremely vulnerable in this position, especially near the target.

So you've got to have gun ship cover overhead, probably AC130s.

In Somalia, Clinton did not allow that, and that's why Black Hawk Down

happened after the successful extraction of that warlord, actually. It was the Ranger Force that

came under fire with no cover. So I'm very happy that Trump gave them everything they needed.
