Joining us today is an internationally respected veteran singer, songwriter and record producer

who is at the Vanguard of the 1970s UK pub rock and new wave scenes before reinventing himself in the

mid 90s as a laid-back acoustic troubadour. It's the basher himself Mr Nick Lowe.

I think it's fair to say Nick is something of a national treasure. He's certainly one of the

most accomplished songwriters ever to emerge from these shores so we're absolutely thrilled to

welcome him as our guest. And we'll have to mention this to Mark Hamode as well. He's a fan, isn't he?

Oh, he's a big fan, yeah. He mentions Jesus of Cool, pretty much every week on the

Care Mode and Mayo podcast.

Right. At least he did it for a while, so we'll have to alert the bequiffed one.

And you may have noticed this is actually

our 50th episode. Yay! We hope you're all applauding at home. Thank you for sticking with us this far.

We are very pleased to have hit this milestone.
