Hello and welcome to the 50th episode of the RHS Gardening Podcast.

Every fortnight for the last two years, we've been bringing you a varied mixture of features and discussions exploring every aspect of gardening.

Plant care, pest control, garden design, growing your own fruit and vegetables and container ideas.

I started in 1964 as an apprentice in the parks department in Ilklee in Yorkshire

Because Britain in Bloom was going 50 years and your your 50 years in articulture by doing a garden at Chelsea, not in the medal stakes, as it were, but as an exhibit

for the RHS. I thought, oh, I don't know, I don't do that anymore. The last one I did, I did,

I did get a gold medal. It was in 1985. That's 29 years ago. It's a long time ago. And I thought about it because I'm not
