For Jeremy Rapanich, Tuesday, July 18th, 2006, was a day of chaos.

It started like any other day.

Jeremy went into work at the Seattle Supersonics offices, and right away, something didn't feel right.

So I come in, you know, every day, have almost the same routine.

I walk in the same door, set my bag down, walk, get the coffee.

We've heard from Jeremy in earlier episodes.

He started as an intern, but now he's working in guest relations.

So on that day, I walk in, doing my same routine, and then I see one of my co-workers is already in.

And he's never in when I'm in.

And he pulled me aside, and he's like, I can't say anything, but this is going to be a tough day and I can't tell you anymore but just be ready okay but ready for what and then I go back to my desk then our head

of game operations gives me a call and it's like Jeremy I need you to go and get the trophies and polish them and bring them to the Furtado Center, which is the training facility.

I can't tell you why, but just you got to bring them down here.

I'm like, okay, that's strange.

All of these things are happening all at once, none of them normal, all pointing to something

shifting underneath Jeremy's feet.

He knows something big is happening, maybe even something bad.

But still, Jeremy's following instructions.

So then I go, I get the Larry O'Brien trophy, I get the WNBA trophy, I polish them, pack them, run down to my crappy used Volkswagen Jetta, and then get in my car and putter up to where the training facility is.
