Summary

Curtis Blaydes is big, athletic and -- as he proved on Saturday night -- has a well-rounded skillset. On top of that, he's only 31 years old. In the aging and shallow heavyweight division, all those things add up to make him a perennial title contender if not, at some point, a champion. Chris Daukaus? Weeeeeellll, maybe not so much. In other news, Demetrious Johnson and Sexyama nab wins in One Championship and new (troubling) shit has come to light about Chael Sonnen's alleged drunken Las Vegas assaults. I'm Chad Dundas. That's been folks. We're both longtime MMA journalists. And for nearly the last 10 years,

0:31.7

we've been meeting here every week to break down all the action in the wild, weird, and occasionally wonderful world of

mixed martial arts. Ben, how you doing this week? The kids are back at school. It appears that

0:45.9

spring may have finally and officially sprung here in the frozen north of Montana. How you

0:52.9

handling it? Well, let me tell you, yesterday I gave in to my

0:56.9

children's demands for me to take the trampoline out of the garage and put it back together

1:00.9

now that the weather is warm enough to get out there and do some jumping. And, you know,

1:05.5

it's been spring break, all that stuff. They lose track of the days. What day is what and what's going on. I put up that

1:12.0

trampoline in the afternoon. They jumped on it until it was time to come inside and be forced

1:17.3

to take a bath and eat dinner. And then the last thing my oldest daughter said, as I put her to

1:22.4

bed last night, was I'm going to jump on that trampoline all day tomorrow. And I had a moment where I was like, do I tell her?

1:30.1

Do I tell her that tomorrow is Monday, that spring break is over, that you're going to be in school?

1:36.1

And that was like, you know what?

1:38.2

I got to tell her.

1:39.3

I can't.

1:39.9

It's going to be bad now, but it's going to be worse as she wakes up in the morning and be like, all right, let's get to that loafing around, jumping on the trampoline, whiling the day away.

1:49.5

I had to tell her, be like, no, man, you could be in school tomorrow.

1:52.8

And then as I closed the door, I just heard, no.

1:58.1

It was a rude awakening over here as well, man. My children were in a state this morning as we

2:04.2

tried to get them ready to race out and jump onto the bus. It's, I mean, you got to, I guess you
