Leila Marie Santonello was a 20-year-old from Kingsport, Tennessee.

She was the mother of one and had several siblings. On the morning of

June 27, 2023, Layla bummed a cigarette off a warehouse worker near the AmeriCort Hotel,

then walked off toward a nearby bike path. She was never seen again.

They told me they were going to detox each other and helped themselves once they got into their new apartment,

which was supposed to happen in the next month.

At that point, I had to tell them that they couldn't stay here anymore.

You cannot actively be using drugs in my house, in my garage, in my basement, in my around.

Like, first of all, the whole conversation came about because you had this particular drug six inches from a two-year-old seat yeah you know like and you were both asleep you don't know that she wasn't going to reach out and touch that like where are you thinking about so

i also have the boys and all the other stuff going on like and i just had to like i can't keep you

here if you're going to be actively using you have to go back to michael's mom's. Like, I can't have that here. And she knew

that she was not going to be able to refrain from using in the house or on the property.

Otherwise, she would have, you know, lied and said, well, we won't. We won't. I think she knew

that that was the best option for everyone at the time because she really didn't like argue.

They just went on back to Michael's mom's house.

About, I found out that it was fentanyl from my niece a couple weeks later
