Arsenal reminded the hard way that there's no such thing as a friendly when you're playing a London rival. This is the Arsenal Vision post-match podcast. My name's Ellie Smith. You can block man, Twitter, Yankee Gunner. Hello, everybody. Interesting times. May you live in interesting times is, yeah, that's the ancient Chinese proverb and it's not always meant to be a good thing. It's sometimes called a curse. We are living through interesting times. Granichaca, staying forever. Hector Bellarine, staying forever. Stay tuned, find out. We do have new signing Ben White in tow, but Thomas Party no longer in tow, at least not for a while, but not because of toe, because of ankle. I don't know where I'm going with that, but keep up. We'll find a way. I do want to let you know that we will have all the guys here, Clive and Paul in particular. We'll be here after the break, but because of the Thomas Party injury, we wanted to start by covering really the topic of the moment, what we're going to do in midfield and how long we might be without the midfielder who really had been impressing so much this preseason. I think it's fair to say Chelsea were a bit dirty in their tactics and pretty disgraceful. I think tackles that would not have been appropriate in the Premier League, let alone preseason, but there we are. So it is now my pleasure, but also my great displeasure, to have to reintroduce to the podcast, Dr. Rajpal Brar. You can follow him on Twitter, and you absolutely should, at 3CB performance, 3CB performance. Just think, what is a defensive system that Elliott hates and then put performance after it?

1:47.1

And you've got his Twitter handle and you also have some great videos where he breaks down,

1:49.6

not just injuries, but all kinds of interesting tactical stuff.

1:53.9

Dr. Rajpal-Brar, it is a joy to welcome you back to the podcast, but not really.

1:59.9

Yeah, pleasure as always to be here for the best of reason.

2:03.7

Best of reasons. All right. So, I i mean look you you're the expert um and you've seen the video you've isolated i think the mechanism of injury is what you would call

2:10.3

it uh or you can correct me because that's probably wrong but that's right why don't you walk me through

2:15.4

what you've seen on the video on the images about uh thomas party and then maybe maybe we can get into a little bit of of some speculation after that

2:22.3

yeah sure i mean so when you see it it's essentially as a tackle from behind and that right ankle

2:29.8

sort it's hit it's hard to tell if it got rolled up on or not.

2:34.8

It's hard to tell like how hard it got hit,

2:37.5

which would be easier to determine the severity level.

2:42.5

But you can see how it rolls.

2:45.3

And so that right away for me speaks to what's called a high ankle sprain with the way that it was trying

2:52.1

twisted inwards.

2:53.4

And there might have been some we call external or outward rotation.

2:58.5

And so that's where I was really looking at when I saw the moment of injury, the mechanism

3:04.1

of injury.

3:05.6

However, there's still, even within that, there's still

...
