Des Moines. We talk about U.S. men's soccer. We've got a big podcast today including an interview with Martin Vasquez, but first let's catch up on US men's national team news,

starting with the biggest news of all, Christian Pulisix moved to Chelsea.

As everyone already knows, the transfer fee was $73 million,

triple the previous record for a U.S. International, which was set by John Brooks a couple years ago.

Pulisik is already a Chelsea player now, but he's been loaned back to Dortman for the rest of the season and he will fight for a spot at Chelsea this summer.

Greg, what are your thoughts?

My thoughts are good on Christian Pool sick for getting paid.

Yeah, I heard on the Total Soccer Show they they sort of estimated his wages at 80,000 a week, $80,000 a week, which is, yeah, congratulations, Christian.

So that was my first thought is good on him like that's a massive deal for a kid to make

Should we talk about the soccer implications? Yeah, there was a lot of hand wringing in U.S. circles over various things and I gather you're

here to solve everyone's wounds.

I'm not. There are a bunch of unknowns about his future, his future at Chelsea. My big thing is, there are just as many unknowns about his future with Barusia Dortman.

It's just in this at the upper echelons, there are no guarantees.

There are no guaranteed successful moves.

There's no plan that we know for sure he's going to continue to develop or be in an ideal

environment to play. So for me, Chelsea's just as good as anywhere else and again again, congratulations to the to the 20 year old

for setting himself up financially.

Right. So what about the whole concern about Chelsea being just a crueler employer than even

Barusi Dorman like does that not worry you at all? I mean it it doesn't worry me any more than Dorman in fact it's almost like a little bit I'm a little bit less worried in part because we already see the direction that's going at Dorman I mean he is he's lost out when when Dortman need to win a game Christian

pool six not in the 11 it's jaded Sancho and it's brune larson so in that sense it's like well

if he stays a dortman we know he's not he's not their main guy he's not their go-to guy. He might be at Chelsea. Now if Chelsea
