What drag does is it takes normative narratives, the songs that we hear around us every day,

the imagery, the characters that we surround ourselves with, and it squeezes our fabulous little

queer bodies into it, and that shifts the meaning of that culture, of those normative stories,

of stories of love, of beauty beauty and we put our bodies in it

and changes it and makes it weird and makes it fabulous right now we need that more than ever as you know we are in a time of violence

because even next Friday we are going to welcome a cabinet of white

supremacist to control this country taking what many queer and brown people have known

for a long time that this country that progress in this country has not been linear

and that we're not done with the fight yet for it.

And drag is a place where we can transform that fight into something beautiful and present.

And the fight for beautiful and awakened.

The future of drag that we talk about all the time and think It needs to be more than just a wink and a nudge that culture here is wrong. It needs to be actually radically imagining new types of beauty, radically re-evaluating the world around us and writing new stories fresh stories that put queer people right at the forefront and put our values of beauty and safety and home and love right up there at the top

and we get to do that all through entertainment.
