Trump's DOJ trying to convince the American people that he is not weaponizing the department,

even as they target a growing list of the president's perceived political enemies.

That department used to be weaponized and politicized, and this is what happens when you take out the fangs of weaponization.

Because there's no scenario in which you can look at what we're doing, restoring justice, doing the right thing in every single case, and say that that's weaponization.

In that same event, Trump named more people he'd like the department to investigate, all

while claiming he is the true victim of DOJ weaponization. I think it was the worst weaponization of a political opponent in the history of the world,

let alone this country. Don't tell me about us going after them. If anything, we've been

very, very soft. I wouldn't be that soft. What they did was criminal. Deranged Jack Smith, in my

opinion, is a criminal. And I noticed his interviewer

was, I think that was Weissman. And I hope they're going to look into Weissman, too. Weissman's a bad guy.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is paving the way to make it easier for the IRS to criminally

investigate left-leaning groups, including major

Democratic donors. That's according to new reporting from the Wall Street Journal. The paper reports,

quote, the undertaking aims to install allies of President Trump at the IRS criminal investigative division to exert firmer control over the unit

and weaken the involvement of IRS lawyers.

Adding, quote, the proposed changes could open the door to politically motivated probes.

The effort is being driven by a top advisor to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent,

who is also serving as acting IRS commissioner.

Well, I think, you know, if you go back and read kind of any of the great theorists

on fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism, what they'll say is that

the authoritarian leader isn't so much concerned with creating an alternate set of facts

as he is with obliterating the sense that reality can be grasped at all.
