This week on One Bad Mother, what walks on all fours is covered in hair and

peace on your floor. It's not your toddler. We talk about the comfort of pets with the host of

the podcast, Comfort Creatures. Plus, Biz rests. Woo! This is a check-in. I have a two and a half

year old who loves to be Elsa and sometimes she takes a turn being Elsa and she says I'm Anna

and sometimes she says I'm also Elsa and yesterday she came home and said that I'm Mr. Pig.

And I'm like okay, I'm wearing a pink shirt. I can be a pig and what does Mr. Pig do?

He gets on all fours while she dances around with those ice magics. So here I am

groveling on the floor while she does ice magic. And I figure that's the end of it.

But this morning when she wakes up we hear over the baby monitor. She first thing she says is

I'm Elsa. And the second thing she says is Mr. Pig, where are you?

You're doing a great job. Oh my god, you were also doing a good job. I was coming. It's

Mr. Pig. Who's always there for you. It's Mr. Pig. Who hates snow. Mr. Pig. I don't even understand

the Mr. Pig thing in relation to Elsa and Anna. But you know what? I think you're doing an

amazing job just rolling with it. Also no one likes to be called a pig. But you committed and this

is what I'm talking about. There's a what an appropriate call on a day where we're going to talk

about the comfort that comes from creatures in our lives both real and fictional. And I just

it is what you're doing. When we kind of commit to that silly stuff with our kids we are providing

them comfort. We are fostering their imagination. And sometimes you don't have to actually play
