Money by Jenna Ivanovich. Joining us to discuss this book, Our Mom's Love, is Rachel,

Rachel. Hi there. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me.

So we were not kidding about this being a book that our mom's love. Recently, I was in Florida

with my mom, who listened to this podcast. Hello, Mom. And we went to the Wizarding World of

Harry Potter, and she was asking who, I don't know, me to explain some character and I was going through my explanation and she was like, you know, I think maybe I only read like the first three Harry Potter books and I was like, wait, what? What are you talking about? And she was like, I don't know. I mean, they were cute and all, but they just weren't as good as one for the money.

And I was like, what?

And then I threw a butter beer in her face.

I didn't really, because that would be a waste of butter bear.

And because I respect differing literary opinions, even when they are objectively

insane.

My mom, I don't think, thinks they're better than Harry Potter, but who knows? I never asked

for that specific comparison. But these were definitely a fixture in my house growing up. I did grow up in New Jersey,

not in the area of New Jersey, that the book takes place in a little further north. But I can

remember, like, looking at all the covers on Amazon, I was like, oh, I remember almost every

single one of these books that my mom would, like, get on the hold list for them at the library, and then we'd get the phone call on the answering machine that it came in.

And, yeah.

So I, without having read any of them, even in my childhood, I was very familiar with the concept and, you know, the general world.
