of the Hello Sydney podcast here, a podcast for horror lovers where we discuss any and all

things horror. And it's me, you girl sydney the girl who

met mike flanagan and kate seagull not once but twice i think that's how i'm going to introduce

myself from here on out taking a poll what do you guys think idk lmk not actually but i am still

entirely reeling from that whole fucking experience hi everybody what have you been up to? How's everybody's day?

How's everybody's October? More importantly, best month of the year. I finally watched the

substance. I was super behind on that one. And yes, it is as good as people have been saying.

It's as fucked up as people have been saying. It's definitely one of my favorites of the year.

However, it's still not my favorite of the year. Heretic is still

by far my favorite of the year. So it did not sway my mind in any way. But it was a really good,

unique horror movie. Like, I love body horror, and it was so reminiscent of like 80s,

Kronenbergian body horror. And I loved everything about it. Demi Moore is fucking beautiful still. A

and B, that was like her opus. I feel like that performance. It was fucking incredible. And it makes

me really wish that the Academy respected horror movies because somebody would win something for

that, but I doubt that will happen. So funny story, after we talked about

the houses October built last week, first of all, I watched the unedited cut version on Shutter,

and it was very different. It actually was very different, but not different in terms of like the

story. The story was still the same. And if anything, the uncut version is kind of just

like more of a documentary about haunts than it is a horror movie I feel like. Like it really just

feels real and it feels like this group of friends going around to all these different haunted

houses interviewing the actors and the owners and the managers and whoever else. And it's one of those where like if I knew
