And we'll hear him in a five-part adventure starring the best actor to play the man with the action-packed expense account Bob Bailey.

Originally aired between October 17th and October 21st, 1955, it's the Chesapeake Fraud Matter.

Now this is one of my favorite Johnny Dollar

cereals, so I had to double check

to make sure that I hadn't already played it on the podcast. It comes

from early in Bob Bailey's run as Johnny Dollar. The Chesapeake Fraud Matter was

the third serial to air after the series was revamped as a five night a week show. Johnny is tapped to investigate after a man thought to have died in an explosion at sea several years earlier is allegedly

spotted alive and well. It's either a case of mistaken identity or this man has

faked his own death and gotten away with it for almost five years.

This is a case that takes dollar across the country from Baltimore to Colorado,

with plenty of twists and surprises to leave you on the edge of your

seat at the end of each installment. The serial was written by John Dawson. That was a pen name for writer E. Jack Newman. We've heard a lot of his work on the

podcast on shows like Johnny Dollar, The lineup, and the Adventures of Sam Spade.
