My friend Becky Edwards joins us to talk about her run for U.S. Senate. Becky, who served 10 years in the Utah House of Representatives, talks about why she is running, past legislative successes, the importance of listening, and principles to bring us together. Becky also talks about the story of her yellow couch—now a key element of her campaign. I start the podcast with our family connection to Becky and John Edwards. During their recent missionary service in Samoa, Becky became the answer to our family prayers for our missionary son Ben who served in Samoa in 2019-2020. 0:29.7	that will happen in the year 2022. So we're about nine months away from the primary. And tell our listeners,
0:36.6	what state you're running from and who's the incumbent.
0:39.4	I am running in the state of Utah.
0:41.1	My husband and I live in North Salt Lake.
0:43.4	We've raised our family there for the past 20 or 30 years.
0:47.7	And I'm running to unseat Mike Lee, the incumbent.
0:51.8	And so someone would ask, well, you haven't ever done political podcasts before. And I,
0:55.8	I just felt like with Becky and her political record and her message and her personal and our
1:01.0	family that I reached out to Becky and volunteered to have her on the podcast as a thank you for the
1:06.6	way she's blessed our family and our son Ben in particular. And I've loved politicians that
1:13.7	in Democrats and Republicans that work together across party lines to bring force solutions. And I
