with a Merseyside Skeptic Society, a non-profit organisation for the promotion of scientific skepticism on Merseyside around the UK and internationally. I'm your host, Mike Hall. With me today is Marsh. Hello. And Alice. Hello. And today is the 26th of March, which means it's the 21st anniversary of New Doctor Who. New Doctor Who is 21 today.

0:39.4

Oh, is it? Ah, okay. Which is nice. It aired in 2005 on the 26th of March.

0:45.8

Christopher Eiffelston, as Doctor Who can go get a beer in America. Yeah, Christopher Eccleson's

doctor could get a bevy now. As can Billy Piper? Yes, because I still think of it as new Doctor Who.

0:55.7

It's been around now for almost as long as the original show was around before it got cancelled.

1:01.1

And it looks like the show might be heading in that direction as well, which is a little bit worrying.

1:04.9

Oh, really? Is it look like it's on the chopping block?

1:07.2

Well, we don't have a doctor at the moment, which is the first time ever that there's not been an incumbent doctor of some description.

1:14.7

Is that true?

1:15.7

1:22.2

Sylvester McCoy was still the doctor up until he regenerated in the McGahn film.

1:27.9

And then Paul McGahn was the doctor up until Christopher Eccleston turned up.

1:30.9

But Shutty's doctor has already started the regeneration process.

1:35.0

Yeah, Shutty has regenerated and turned into Billy Piper,

1:39.6

who almost certainly is not actually going to be the doctor.

1:42.2

So we're in a kind of weird limbo state where we don't have a real doctor. Turned to Billy Piper. Mm. I don't entertain for a second that she is the real choice for the next doctor. But they didn't have anyone else because they had to record in a pinch. How bizarre. But there you go, 21 today. Hooray. Last month, speaking on the Joe Rogan experience, RFK Jr. commented that he is a big fan of peptides. Marsh, you spotted this when you were covering that particular episode with Cecil, right? So, yeah, perfectly timed on us. I did say to you a while ago that you should like, oh, wait, here's a thing with peptides. They're everywhere again. You should be doing that. So that's why I sent you that one. I mean, you sent it me as you were recording that episode.

2:37.5

So it makes sense that it was... I said to you peptides before then. Well, the problem is completely

2:42.1

taken out of context, just saying, oh, you should cover peptides is a bit odd because a peptide is just
