Erica Lee Hall was a 23 year old from Canton, Ohio. She was athletic and had two sisters. On February 5th, 2016, Erica

called her mother saying the two guys with her were arguing.

She then hung up, and Erica allegedly left the premises.

She was never seen again. I'm at Denzel and this is Unfound. On the most recent Unfound live, I went over a story about how overdoses leading to death

went down from 2022 to 2023.

Not by a lot, but something to give us a bit of hope of reversing a long-running negative

trend that has been going on since the 1990s.

What do I mean?

Well, if we go back to the year I was born, 1970,

a time that is often thought of as a big drug era,

there were three overdose deaths per 100,000 people.

Now it's 10 times that, about 30 overdose deaths per 100,000.

It is a staggering horrible increase,

like it doesn't even seem possible.

For unfound, think about how many disappearances

we've featured where overdoses are most likely a huge factor.

Going back to probably the first one covered Lola Catherine Fry, to then more recent times with

Carl Schooner Jr. and the many in between.

Well, today with Erica Hall, we have another case where drugs could play a role,

although the cause could be something else.

Either way, what can we do to bring about recovery now?
