Hi to all of our sweet friends in podcast land. This is Sally Clarkson and I'm

here this early morning with Kristen Kill and we are going to be talking today

about something that we are trying to build into our children every day but is

also so relevant to us. It's chapter 12 in Own Your Life and it says

harvesting a godly character owning your integrity. What an important word

integrity is in this culture. Hi Kristen. Hi Sally yes how are you I love

getting to meet with you and I love that we're talking about this today. I

think it's one of those chapters that spurs me on because as I'm teaching my

children I realize how very important it is to continue to cultivate in my

own heart. Well and I realize too that we keep talking about the landscape of

culture right now and all that's going on in the political world but it's so

important to understand this idea of integrity of having a personal moral

character of having a real vision for virtue because I think that what we see

happening in our world today are a lot of people who never developed a value

for how important personal character, personal integrity, personal virtue is.

And this chapter starts out and I remember it so well with a sweet friend of mine

and she called me and what she actually said was she said I really need to talk

to you. She said when you said that being a mom and a wife and a Christian and a

writer and a blogger when you said it was hard work every day all the time

never any let up you meant you meant like hard work. I said yeah and she said

that I thought maybe if I did it for a little while it would just carry itself.

And I think that for me honestly though I am an idealist and I love the idea
