Summary

This week, Stacy and Sarah discuss circadian rhythm and navigating shift work in a healthy way. They look at the science behind circadian rhythms to see how they work and even offer techniques you can use to help adjust to a constantly fluctuating schedule. You can find the full show notes with links to the products and articles discussed on this episode here. Listener Question: I have been dialing in my nutrition, activities and sleep and feel so much better for it. But due to my work schedule everytime I come off a rotation of night shifts it takes me 3 days to recover back to my new normal again. I started working 12 hour shifts (7am to 7pm for 4 days then 2 days off. Then 7pm to 7am for 4 nights, then 6 days off to rest).  It's like having jetlag every 16 days! Is there anything I can do to help and support my body through this? Hello, welcome to the whole view. Episode 449, whereby I've suddenly decided to start the

show in a very creepy voice.

It's the, I don't know, like next, you know, window number two on the prices right. I like

0:48.0

a picture of this voice with like hand motions displaying something.

0:52.0

Oh, there was full-on hand motions for sure.

0:56.0

But then again, there's always hand-talking. Did you know that a couple of weeks ago I actually

1:00.3

like scratched my face to the point where it was bleeding and pretty deep. I still have

1:04.8

a mark on my face from hand-talking literally.

1:08.0

Oh, that is so many kinds of epic. I'm really impressed. That's fantastic.

1:13.7

That is the full red-headed stepchild Hungarian Italian hand-talking problem right there.

1:22.4

I feel like hand-talking is why there's no video version of this podcast because we

1:27.7

just make like anybody was watching. We'd make them motion sick with both how much we both

1:31.7

hand-talk.

1:32.7

Also, neither one of us actually want to get dressed up for this, so I'm in my PJs.

1:38.1

Yeah, that's reason number two. All right, I'm excited. This week is a topic that is not

1:46.0

something I've ever had to personally deal with, but I've actually done quite a bit of research

1:52.0

because I have people in my life who work on alternative shifts. I know how much that

1:59.8

can affect your health. I'm really looking forward to this topic because I think a lot of
