It would just be so much fun. But this was an incredible story with a lot of significance that I don't think I appreciated until I read your book.

So how did you come across this particular convoy, this story?

Well, Ray, it started, but it had nothing to do with it originally because about a dozen years ago I started

interviewing Arctic convoy veterans and because you know they were getting a bit

long in the tooth and I want to get them while I still could and I was and there were both merchant navy British one some some

Norwegians in fact as well and mainly British some American Canadian and what got me was one of them said that the Arctic convoys were a sort of walk in the park.

And I said, you're kidding kidding me it's freezing out there and you know what and he said you know he was he was in this

gerbaltic convoy and he was more terrified then at one stage than at any other point and I was and that was

H. G 76 and I was and there was a merchant naval guy who was actually torpedoed four times in the war which you know he's a bit of a Jonah I think on his merchant ships and I learned two things for him. One is in the British
